I am Michael Heck, a state-certified graphic designer and trained media designer.

Since 1 June 2025 I have been working independently as Büro Modal in Lahr/Sulz. The name is deliberate: Büro Modal is not a place, but a mode of working: focused, flexible and self-directed.

I connect design, data work, automation and AI. I am interested in the point where thinking, structure and form meet.

Before that, I spent around 23 years at Stolz-Krechting, a typesetting and publishing company focused on typography, typesetting, final artwork and catalogue production.

Büro Modal is intentionally not tied to one fixed location. What matters is the quality of collaboration, not the desk.
